Award-winning author, Lori Hayes, writes romantic coastal stories that will keep you up late at night
Lori writes cozy love stories that take place in a small coastal town in North Carolina. She's created a community of friends, family, and a setting so yummy it will draw you in.
If you love light romance, wild horses, and dreamy walks on the beach just beyond the sandy dunes, you'll love books by Lori Hayes.
When a betrayed young woman moves to a charming beach town to escape love, an unlikely matchmaker gets involved.
Physical therapist Emily McMillan broke off her troubled engagement to move to a charming, albeit tight-knit, seaside community for a new start. But will the locals accept her? She's too quiet, too reserved and wants to hole up in her apartment to write her latest novel. When she treats a spunky patient, popularly known as Gran, she finds herself agreeing to a date with Gran's handsome grandson.
Keith Stallings, a creative businessman who owns the local passenger ferry, tempts Emily with a dreamy island full of wild horses, an enticing beach laden with colorful sunsets, and a home-cooked picnic under the stars. Heck, even a wild pelican named Sam loves him. Emily had declared men off-limits, but just when she believes this is the best island summer ever, the park service threatens Keith's livelihood. Keith has a difficult decision to make, one that may not include Emily.
An emotionally complex beach read, this love story reaches just beyond the sand dunes where the sea turtles nest and where the tides can wash away dreams.
Where the sand dunes tower and the horses run free, a mysterious island may hold painful secrets of the past. Romance and suspense reach new heights in the coastal Outer Banks.
Claire Kincaid is drawn to a small town on the coast. As a wildlife photographer, she’s captivated by the scenery and the wild horses she finds on a nearby island. The breeze is fresh, the tang of sea salt tasting oddly reassuring. There is a familiarity, as if she’s returned home after years away. She yearns to find her estranged father, having heard he lives somewhere in the area, but feels most connected to him when she’s on the deserted island. While on a photo shoot of the wild horses, she misses the last passenger ferry back to the mainland and is stranded overnight with little food or water. Black thunderheads are already gathering out at sea.
Jeff Rhoades, park ranger and wildlife biologist, discovers Claire hasn’t returned to the mainland and searches late into the night to find her. But she’s anything but excited to see him. As they spend more time together, though, their complicated relationship grows confusing and their attraction to each other is undeniable. Though neither are in a position to acknowledge it, the chemistry between them intensifies, until he discovers intricate secrets of her past.
They can’t ignore the magic on the island—although lies and secrets revealed threaten to keep them apart.
Wonderful, refreshing, captivating!
I really enjoyed this book and the author's writing style. It pulls you into the story like many books used to do to actually relate to or personally become one or more of the characters in the story. And the story and story line keeps you interested and intrigued all the way through the book. One of those book that I've actually read more than once, noticing things that I did not on the first read. I highly recommend the book and the author's series.
This book is a must read!!!
I think everyone should read this book! From the moment I started reading I couldn't put it down. I even stayed up late to finish it. The author did a fantastic job of telling a love story and keeping me guessing all the way through to the end. Just when I thought I knew how it was going to end, the plot turned and I was drawn in even further. The way she tied all the pieces together kept me captivated. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good read and a happy ending. I cant wait to read the next book!
